A HOST of exciting acts are ready to perform live when this year's North Wales Bluegrass Music Festival returns to the picturesque setting on Conwy town next month.

Running between July 4-6, the event promises to offer three days of top-tapping, hard driving bluegrass music from top international artists.

Headlining this 20th festival will be American band The Special Consensus: a four piece acoustic bluegrass band who have been performing since 1975.

After receiving a standing ovation after the first band performance on the Grand Ole Opry at Nashville's historic Ryman Auditorium, they have gone on to release countless albums boasting catchy lyrical harmonies and matchless playing.

The Tennessee Hob from America, New Section from the Czech Republic, and Italy's very own Bononia Grass will be adding further worldwide flavour to the proceedings, and will be joined by the cream of British groups including The Down County Boys - who hold the distinction of being the longest performing bluegrass band not only in United Kingdom, but in Europe -The Morris Boys from Cornwall, The inimitable Brian Golbey, Papa Truck, Tin Box Company and The Coffin Dodgers.

Established as one of the most popular bluegrass festivals in the North Wales Area, this year's celebrations will be a truly unmissable event for Bluegrass-lovers and all music fans alike.
