BRITISH wrestling will be returning to Venue Cymru next month for an action pack night of amazing entertainment.

Promising to be a fun night for all the family, the show will see the British Heavyweight Champion Jon Ritchie defend his title against Rhyl's Johnny Saint that will be televised on SKY TV.

Saint has been gunning for championship gold since November and will be hoping to finally upset the challenger in Llandudno.
"I defeated Johnny Kidd in November to become number one contender," said Saint. "I'm ready for Ritchie, bring it on. I'll be walking out on the 21st as the new champ."

Not since the days of Big Daddy and Giant Haystacks has British Wrestling been as popular as it is today.

Saturday afternoons at four o'clock used to be a national institution, as the country would come to a standstill, put the kettle on, and turn on their TV sets to hear Kent Walton utter the immortal phrase, "Good afternoon, grapple fans!" on the much-loved World of Sport broadcasts.
British Wrestling was in fact so popular at one time that it was watched by more viewers than the FA Cup Final – even the Queen was a fan!

Sadly, British Wrestling gave way to the glitz and glamour of the Americans in the late 1980s, and seemed to vanish off the face of the Earth. But now it's back due to popular demand, and it's better than ever!

The famed live shows mix the best of today's young talent with the survivors of the British ITV era.

Alongside household names such as the samurai superstar Kendo Nagasaki and Brian "Gold Belt" Maxine, up-and-coming stars like the Greek Grappling Sensation, Yorghos, and the 6'8 Michael Mendoza will be showcasing their skill.

With just six weeks to live wrestling action returns to Llandudno, tickets are already selling fast so be sure to book early to avoid disappointment.

Live Professional Wrestling will be coming to Venue Cymru on Thursday, February 2 at 7:30pm. For information or to book tickets contact the Box Office on 01492 872000 or visit the website at www.venuecymru.co.uk
