The two day event kicked off last Friday at Theatr Colwyn. The festival played host to the final of the Seren Yn Codi/Rising Star and a show hosted by North Wales Magic duo Erwyd le Fol and Jay Gatling.

There were also workshops including Killer Heels, Hairstyling, Don’t Feed the Trolls - dealing with negativity in a digital world, beginners burlesque and dealing with stage fright and anxiety.

Saturday night’s show was hosted by Erwyd and featured Ana Kiss, Kitty Von Crypt, Dave Diamond, Foxee Stole, Winnie Pelteez, Fifi Von Tassel, Bonnie Boux, Nula Hula, the Clamity Twins, Kiki Mellek, Scarlet Butterfly and Victor and the Bully.

There was also a body confidence and burlesque masterclass with Fifi Von Tassel. Fifi travelled from Norway to lead the session and perform her signature act Cupcake Wars,

This year the event was supported by the National Lottery.

Kimberley Edmunds, also known as Foxee Stole, who is co-organiser of the festival, said: “Many people get into burlesque as a means of dealing with negative body image as a form of empowerment and regaining control of their mental and physical health.

“The event was amazing. We had performers and visitors from all over the world and everyone had a fabulous time and new friendships were made

“The masterclass with Fifi Von Tassel was a huge success with amazing comments received from participating people.

“The supportive atmosphere was amazing with everyone encouraging each other to be themselves and love their bodies

“We had people visit the festival who had never been to a burlesque show before and absolutely loved it.” The next festival will be held on January 25 and 26 2019.
