THE UK’s only lesbian festival has revealed its two headline acts for the event in Llandudno next month.

Katrina Leskanich and Toyah Willcox will headline a long list of performers at L Fest which will be held in Bodafon Fields between July 13 and 16.

Best known for signing in Katrina and the Waves, Katrina Leskanich won the 1997 Eurovision song contest with Love Shine a Light after rising to prominence with her 1985 hit Walking on Sunshine.

Willcox is an award-winning rock legend as well as a much-loved stage/screen actress and music composer.

She has had 13 top 40 singles, recorded 24 albums, written two books, appeared in more than 40 stage plays, acted in 20 feature films and presented hundreds of TV programmes.

This will be the first time the event has been held in Llandudno, having previously been held in the Midlands.

But L Fest organiser, Cindy Edwards, said the change of venue and headline acts have been received well.

She added: “We are so excited to be moving the festival to Wales, it was a big risk for me as it was always midlands based, but our regular ticket holders and many new ones are really excited about making the trip to North Wales.

I was over the moon at the response (following the release of the headliners last week). The tickets have been sold before before any acts have been released so they trust us to put on a festival that they will enjoy.”

More than 1,000 women and their families are expected to flock to Llandudno for the festival next month, with only a small amount of tickets left.

There are still some tickets for sale now but they will be gone very soon.

Tickets cost £120 and day tickets £60, children under 16 are free. For details visit: www.lfest.co.uk.
