Film review - Twilight Saga: Eclipse

THE Twilight saga films are not one’s that I would usually go and see – but having been dragged to the first two, I decided to go and see the third.

Eclipse is the next chapter in the tale which sees war coming to the town of Forks, but it is not as dark as the previous two, and even has some funny one-liners from the two love rivals Edward (Robert Pattinson) and Jacob (Taylor Lautner).

The story sees vampire Victoria raising an army so that they can go and avenge her grudge on Bella (Kristen Stewart), who remains human.

The Cullen vampire clan and the Werewolves have to partner and fight together against the army to protect Bella.

Throughout the movie you see preparations for the battle from both sides, but when it came it was rather disappointing from my point of view.

The battle can not have been on for more than two minutes, I’m sure to the dismay of the men in the theatre who had been dragged by girlfriends.

The film was, as the previous two, more of a love story than an action filled ‘vampire versus werewolf’ type of movie, and Bella has a decision which she toys with through the whole film, the decision whether to marry Edward or not, whilst Jacob tries his best to get her to accept her feelings for him.

The women/girls in the audience seemed to enjoy Taylor Lautner with his top off, which was complimented with cat calls from those who he had got just a little bit hot under the collar.

Eclipse is a great film for teenagers and those who enjoy a love story, but if your expecting fierce battles and action then I would give this one a miss.
