ONE of the most loved musicals ever written comes to Llandudno this month when Blood Brothers returns to Venue Cymru.

Following sell out seasons in the US, Australia, Canada, New Zealand and Japan, the international smash hit musical has triumphed across the globe.

Scooping four awards for best musical in London and seven Tony Award nominations on Broadway, this epic tale of Liverpool life has been running in London’s West End since July 1988 and touring the UK since 1995.

Blood Brothers tells the captivating and moving story of twin boys separated at birth, only to be re-united by a twist of fate and a mother’s haunting secret.
The memorable score includes A Bright New Day, Marilyn Monroe and the emotionally charged hit Tell Me It’s Not True.

X-Factor contestant Nikki Evans steps into the shoes of Mrs Johnstone: a young mother deserted by her husband and left to her own devices to provide for seven hungry children, who takes a job as a housekeeper in order to make ends meet.
It is not long before her brittle world crashes around her when she discovers herself to be pregnant yet again - this time with twins!

In a moment of weakness and desperation, she enters a secret pact with her employer which leads inexorably to the show’s shattering climax.

The heart-wrenching tale is written by Willy Russell who has established himself as one of the country's leading contemporary dramatists, with an eclectic CV boasting countless credits such as Educating Rita and Shirley Valentine.

Promising a sensational cast, incredible show-stopping music, remarkable staging and five star performances, Blood Brothers is sure to be an enthralling night of entertainment.

  • Blood Brothers will be showing at Venue Cymru between August 30 and September 4. For more information or to book tickets contact the Box Office on 01492 872000 or visit the website at www.venuecymru.co.uk
