STUDENTS at Rydal Penrhos School have been celebrating another strong year of GCSE results.
The percentage of pupils who scored A*-C grades rose to 92.6 per cent, with more than 50 per cent of those A* and A grades - an increase of 7 per cent on last year’s result.
Year 11 students scored an average of 9 A*-C passes, with stand-out grades for Robert Warrington who secured 10 A* and 1A and Eleanor Murphy who managed 9 A*s and 1A.
Headmaster, Patrick Lee-Browne, congratulated the pupils on their results.
He said: "This has been a real team effort: the pupils and their teachers have worked well together to ensure that they have learned and understood the great range of subject knowledge and skills required in up to 12 different subjects. And we should also acknowledge the great investment of time and effort that the parents have made in motivating and stimulating them to do their best.
"Across the spectrum of results our pupils have achieved results to be proud of, and the school is certainly very proud of them. They should already be aiming to beat the records set by the Upper Sixth last week, when their A-level results are published in two years’ time."
