CARMARTHEN QUINS 14
RGC1404 47

NORTH Wales’ senior representative side has made it a hat-trick of wins against Premiership opposition.

And there was also a hat-trick for Dinbych’s Tom Seddon to celebrate!

RGC1404 produced an excellent all-round display of fast flowing rugby, combined with aggressive tackling and defence to outplay Carmarthen Quins, scoring seven tries for the second weekend running.

Against five top South Wales teams, the Gogs have now scored 188 points and 28 tries, while at the same time developing a growing body of admirers for their style of rugby.

The scoreboard began rolling as early as the second minute when Jeremy Kyne scored with a pushover try converted by Connor Braid.

For the first 25 minutes, Carmarthen hardly ventured into the Gogs’ half and RGC crossed the Carmarthen line twice but on both occasions the ball was deemed to have been held up.

On 28 minutes the Gogs got the ball from a maul on the left about 20 metres out and quickly moved the ball across the backs for full-back Sean White to score.

Shortly before half-time, RGC broke from within their own 22, the ball ending in the hands of Tom Seddon, who sold a dummy to the Carmarthen defence and ran through to score.

And right on the stroke of half-time Jeremy Kyne crossed for his second try and the visitors were 26-0 up.

The second half started much like the first with loose-head prop Hubert Buydens scoring a pushover try, before Carmarthen replied through Jason Howells’ try.

This seemed to galvanise the home team who began to apply some pressure, but the RGC defensive line was too strong.

The visitors stretched their lead when Seddon scored his second try under the posts and the Dinbych player soon took advantage of a Carmarthen knock-on to secure his hat-trick try.
