RESIDENTS in Powys have the opportunity to see artwork created on a piece of popular technology in Llandrindod Wells over the coming weeks.

From Ingress to iPad: A Retrospective Exhibition by the artist Marcia Gibson-Watt is currently on display at Radnorshire Museum.  The exhibition will be on until Saturday, June 11.

This exhibition features a rich selection or work by this prolific local artist in a career spanning 40 years.  The work ranges from some of her earliest, produced at the Studio Simi in Florence, to contemporary creations produced on her iPad.

Radnorshire Museum's Curator Will Adams, said: "Marcia was given an iPad by her daughter Phoebe for Christmas and very quickly discovered one of the Apps that enabled her to experience with 'layers' drawing from which she could produce prints.

“Her interest was further ignited on a January visit to Paris to view the Monet exhibition for the second time.  As if by design, she arrived in the French capital on an earlier Eurostar star train than she booked and was able to visit the David Hockney iPhone and iPad exhibition 'Fleurs fraiches'.

“She was so inspired that she experimented further with drawings that you can now see in Radnorshire Museum.  This may be the first public showing of iPad work in Wales.”

Radnorshire Museum's opening hours are from 10am till 4pm from Tuesday to Saturday.  Admission is free for children and Powys residents.
