A DAREDEVIL Llandudno woman who refuses to let her blindness get in the way of fundraising will be tackling a 110ft abseil as her latest charity feat.
Nicki Cockburn, 33, of St David's Road, will be scaling down the Marquis of Anglesey column on June 26 to raise vital funds for St Dunstan's charity who offer physical and emotional support to blind and visually impaired ex-Service men and women.
She said: "There are no steps, it's a vertical drop. I hope there's going to be someone with me.
"I'm mainly nervous because I've only raised £30 so far and I really want to raise £500 for St Dunstan's."
Nicki is no stranger to tackling the extreme, having previously tried her hand at scuba diving in a tank full of sharks and skydiving.
Recently the intrepid fundraiser took part in a sponsored walk between Port Vale Football Club and Chelsea Football Club, raising £11,500 for Guide Dogs for the Blind in the process.
"It was a 173 mile walk over 15 days," said Nicki. "The reason I did that was because my first dog was called Vale and my next one was Chelsea. I wanted to do an original walk.
"My mum is really worried my next dog will be called Penzance and the one after that John O'Groats."
