GIFTED youngsters from a Chester school have completed a gruelling national challenge.

Twenty-six pupils from Bishops’ High School took home an award after taking part in the UK Mathematics Trust Challenge.

The event, which is run by Leeds University, last year had more than 600,000 pupils from 4,000 schools take part in the three individual categories.

The top 40 per cent of students are awarded bronze, silver and gold certificates.
Justin Blakebrough, headteacher of the school in Boughton Heath, said: “We are very proud of these students.

“As a specialist science college we encourage our students to enrich their learning by participating in maths and science competitions and events and we are delighted by their success.”
