FOUR hotels which formed part of Stephanie Booth’s empire have been put up for sale.

Real estate agents Colliers International last night announced it has been instructed by administrators KPMG to market Bodidris Hall in Llandegla and The Wild Pheasant, Bryn Howel and The Chainbridge in Llangollen.

Offers are now being invited for the hotels, which have more than 100 employees between them and are continuing to operate.

The announcement about the hotels being on the market was made 10 days after Llangollen Hotels Ltd and its parent company, Global Investments Group, were placed into administration, coinciding with the shock closure of The Wynnstay Hotel in Wrexham.

Neil Thomson, director of Colliers International’s Manchester office, said: “This is a great opportunity for a hotelier or investor to acquire these hotels of supreme character which are trading well and are being offered as a group or individually.

“The hotels are very successful and profitable and we are seeking buyers to hopefully come in and take over.

“I can confirm there has been interest expressed in the hotels so far.”

Mr Thomson said no timescale was in place for the offers, but he urged potential new owners to quickly register their interest, with offers to be made either for the group as a whole or for the individual assets.

The valuations of each hotel have so far not been released.

Each of the four hotels is currently being run by Convivial Management as the search gathers pace for buyers.

Cllr Jon Haddy, Mayor of Llangollen, believes the three hotels in his town being placed on the market is a positive outcome.

He said: “I am glad to see there is a positive air about the place in the sense that the businesses are still trading.

“I would say things are looking better than they were a week ago and hopefully they will find a buyer shortly.

“It is a shame that is has come to this, but the good thing is the hotels are still operating.”

The four hotels are operated on a freehold basis.

Two others, The Chester Bridge Hotel, Chester, and The Anchor Hotel, Ruthin, are leased and are now operated by their landlords.

The Wrexham and Mold branches of The Fantastic Fun House soft play centres closed, but the Oswestry branch stayed open along with its adjoining McLarens wine bar.

Mrs Booth last week blamed an agreement with Barclays Bank for the problems which led to the hotel group being placed into administration, claiming she and husband David faced a £900,000 payment to HMRC.

Her version of events was disputed by Barclays.

No reason why they can't be successful if they're run properly by someone who knows what they're doing. St Steph should stick to her/his transgender mail order businesses.

Good job the WST sussed her out although many less discerning fans were initially taken in by her pre-match antics!

Ms Booth, ultimately you, and you alone are solely responsible for the failure of your empire. Furthermore, if the empire was not in a financial position to honour its debts, especially HMRC, I deeply suspect Ms Booth you was overtrading. As a direct consequence you dug yourself a hole, which became deeper as time went on. The final analysis, you lacked strong financial management, therefore the buck stops with you, and you alone.

Boy is looking rougher than usual these days.

Don't you mean Boycs ? Definite likeness....

Stephanie Booth? There is a rumour going around that wrexhamafc has been there at the time of the takeover saga. Some suggesting it was to save the club, others implied a more base purpose.

Booth is driven by Booths own stupid ego. All these hotels are stuck in an 80's time warp. The only people to of ever up-dated any of them are the previous owners. If this news paper had any sense they would now be seeking out all those effected and owed money by Booth attempting to expose the real truth about Booth in so doing proving the press statement by Booth of last week was like everything else nothing short of a con artists attempt to cover its own back.

The rumour I heard is that Boycs IS Stephanie Booth, using an alias to avoid paying her bills, after all, there is a definite resemblence!

Unfortunately, connedby, the Leader is unable to undertake any kind of investigative journalism in case it upsets any of its advertisers.

Roland Cleth, never a truer word. Not much chance of a News Of The World scandal at the Leader!

  16. Posted by: connedby at 22:47 on 20 July 2011 Report

Maybe Cleth&wrexhamafc should set up a forum 2 expose all Booths bad practice & con jobs. According 2 KPMG th main Hotels r profitable. Thats debatable & depends how KPMG play with figures & numbers around. 1 things sure all these out dated Hotels frm Sept 2011 onwards will have a quiet year next year due to th Booth stigma. Think about it, Who in their right mind would now risk leaving hundreds of £'s in deposits at any of them while its all up in the air.

the only reason the hotels made money was that they never spent money on maintanence used cheap labour didnt pay for work for months and cut services like sky do all this and it looks like you are making money till it all comes falling down
