CROWDS flocked to Llandudno on Saturday to enjoy the annual St David's Hospice Summer Fete and Open Day.

More than £7,000 was raised on the day for the charity, which was officially opened by celebrity astrologer and media personality Russell Grant.

More than 40 stalls selling books, plants and cakes attracted the crowds, with games, a fortune teller and a bouncy castle providing entertainment for all ages.

The Plaza was used to display the work of the hospice and show artist’s impressions of the Helping Hands Appeal plans, which include converting all bedrooms into single bedroom accommodation, an additional three bedrooms and enhanced education facilities.

St David’s Hospice Fundraising Co-ordinator Marie Lidgett said: "Thanks to everybody who helped and supported our annual Summer Fete. “Special thanks to Russell Grant, who was happy mingling with volunteers and visitors and spent all afternoon with us.

"The day was also an opportunity for everybody to learn more about the charity and we hope that you continue to support us with our forthcoming events during the year."
