AN ARTIST has found a novel way of spreading the word about his latest exhibition.
Peter Malcolm Smith, 69, of Tregarth near Bangor, has received plenty of attention since he placed a two foot high sign on the roof of his car to promote his free exhibition at the village’s community hall, which starts on Saturday, August 27.
He said: “Some old guy was shouting at me when I was in the car the other day, so I rolled the window down and he said ‘it looks like a tombstone!’”.
The exhibition will feature originals and prints of Peter’s landscapes of scenes in Windsor and North Wales, as well as work in various mediums by other artists.
Peter, who taught art at Hillgrove School in Bangor in the 1990s, was inspired to take up painting by the scenery of Anglesey and Gwynedd after he came to the region in 1965.
The exhibition is open from 11am -6pm until September 1.
