A LOST pet has been found - thanks to the social networking site Facebook.

Daisy, a 12 month old cocker spaniel, went missing on Tuesday after one day in her new home on Peulwys Road, Llysfaen.

She was returned to her owner Gill Jones, of Penrhyn Bay, on Friday morning after she was spotted by another dogwalker in the area.

A Facebook group to reunite Daisy with her owner, and twin brother Clayton, reached more than 289 members, and Gill was keen to thank the group for their support.

Gill said: “I’m so relieved. It just goes to prove that Facebook works. I couldn’t believe the amount of support, she’s got more friends on it than me!”

“It was brilliant - even down to people just sending us their best wishes. I met one lady yesterday while out walking dogs who recognised Daisy. Everyone says she’s a celebrity now.”

Gill will now hold a welcome home party for Daisy and to thank the members of the group for their support.

Members of the Facebook group were happy with Daisy’s return.

Catherine Threlfallo said: “So pleased for you. She’s gorgeous! You see the world is not all bad - there are some amazing people out there!”

User Bernice Parry said: “What fantastic news to start the day. Welcome home Daisy. Really pleased. This is why I think Facebook is great. People who don’t even know each other come together. Brilliant. Well done everyone.”
