LLANRHAEADR must puck themselves up following their beating at Rhyl last weekend, for the visit of Porthmadog in the first round of the Huws Gray Cup.

Manager Mario Iaquinta acknowledged his side faced another mountain to climb, with the former Welsh Premier side arriving as strong favourites.

“We are under no illusions and we will expect another difficult match,” said Iaquinta. “Every game is tough in this league but we gave Porthmadog a game in their league visit earlier this season and that will give us confidence.”

The defensive duo of Rob Fox and Dan Kelly return to the fold, following illness and a one match ban respectively.

Guilsfield travel to Rhyl with Russell Cadwallader accepting his side’s cup defence faced one of its sternest tests.

“We could not have really asked for a tougher start to our defence, but as holders we want to stay in the competition for as long as possible.

“We have put a run of wins together and it is up to us to keep that going.”
Goalkeeper Dave Littleford is unavailable with new signing Marcus Vaughan (right) taking over in goal.

Meanwhile defenders James Henderson and Mark Griffiths return to availability with Ian Probert likely to be rested with an ankle injury.

Caersws start their Huws Gray Cup bid tonight (Friday) at Flint Town United.
“We lost up there earlier in the season and expect another tough game,” said manager Mickey Evans.

Defender Graham Jones returns to the squad, but striker Mark Griffiths is currently struggling with a groin strain.
