THERE is no respite for Llanrhaeadr who host high flying Flint Town United on Saturday.
The Tanat Valley side’s spirits remain high despite an 8-0 crushing at the hands of Porthmadog, in the Huws Gray Cup last weekend.
“If anything they over-rated us after we drew with them in the league earlier in the season,” said manager Mario Iaquinta. “They came here with a point to prove and all credit to them because they are quite a team.”
Goalkeeper Darren Powell misses the next few months through personal commitments, while midfielder Jamie Evans is also unavailable for the visit of the Deesiders.
“They are a top team in the Alliance and we will expect a tough game,” added Iaquinta. “We have had a tough start to the season, but hope to start picking up points when we play clubs from outside the top six to eight.”
Last weekend saw Caersws overcame Flint with manager Mickey Evans hoping to extend their recent run of form to the league, when they visit Rhos Aelwyd.
However Evans warned his players not to underestimate the lowly Wrexham side.
“Last year we went there and did not play well and ended up losing,” said Evans.
“We must learn the lessons of that game this season.”
Striker Mark Griffiths remains a major doubt with a pelvic injury, while on-loan duo Sion Ellis and Scott Quigley could also miss the trip due to parent club commitments.
Guilsfield travel to Llandudno in high spirits despite losing their Huws Gray Cup crown in last weekend’s first round defeat at Rhyl.
“We have to hold our hands up and admit that Rhyl have a great team and excellent players,” said Cadwallader. “It leaves us to concentrate on the league which is always the top priority.”
Goalkeeper Dave Littleford returns to the fold along with midfielder Ian Probert, while defender Mark Griffiths and striker Barry Haralambous are pressing to step up from the reserves.
