GLAN CONWY came from behind to pick up their fifth straight win at the weekend, beating Nefyn 3-2.

Chris Beardmore put Glan ahead in the first minute, but strikes from Sam Pascall and Llyr ap Gruffudd put Nefyn ahead at half time.

Mez Knight continued his goalscoring form to level the tie on 65 minutes, and Andy Booker knocked in the winner on 70 minutes to stretch Glan’s winning run.

Llandudno Junction put up a fight in their weekend match with Holyhead Hotspurs, but were unable to prevent the Anglesey men going top of the league in a 4-2 defeat.

Danny Jones and Dwyfor Williams netted for Junction, who were unable to prevent a repeat of last week’s cup defeat.

Penmaenmawr Phoenix survived a late scare in their weekend match as they beat Gaerwen.

Bleddyn Jones netted from the spot and Richard Roberts extended Pen’s lead, who then held on to secure a 2-1 win despite a late penalty from the hosts.

West Shore put in the performance of the week in the Vale of Clwyd & Conwy League, coming from three goals down at half time to beat Betws yn Rhos 4-3.

Superb finishes from Mike Lauchlan and Dave Sharp put Betws in control, and a brave effort from Jody Bates, who chased down a defence splitting pass before knocking the ball past the keeper, looked to have settled the tie before the break.

But Shore struck back in the second, with Dave Hughes netting twice early on and Tommy Talbot knocking in the deciders on 85 and 87 minutes, with Betws’ misery compounded by injuries to three key players.

In the Premier Division, Rhos United were well beaten 5-1 to Rhuddlan Town, with Eric Wright netting the only Rhos goal with a back-post header on the stroke of half time to draw the two sides level.

Mochdre Sports also lost out, with Prestatyn Rovers notching a 2-0 win.
