PARANORMAL investigators have had a close call with things that go bump in the night.

Flintshire Paranormal Group conducted an investigation at the George and Dragon, Chester, in the run up to Halloween to raise funds for Children in Need.

Steve German, 27, of Connah’s Quay, the group’s founder, said: “There is definitely something there. I felt something myself, but I do not think it is very strong.

“Some of the things we had heard about the pub, such as taps being turned on, did not happen to us. We heard some unexplained noises in the cellar.

The group, which was set up five years ago, has managed to raised more than £250 for the charity with more funds to be collected.

Joining them on the ghost hunt was freelance investigator Paul Rowlands, who builds his own ghost-detecting equipment.

Steve said: “We had some of the tables moving and we used a ouija board. We had the names Earnest and Louise spelt out. It all depends on the night, you could go back another night and have more activity.”

The group thanked all those who had raised funds and everyone at the George and Dragon for hosting the event.
