THE public are being asked to come up with a name for Colwyn Bay’s new Watersport Centre.

Construction work on the centre, which would provide North Wales with a watersports hotspot and includes a bistro and educational facility, is due to begin in the new year.

Conwy Council are inviting residents, visitors and organisations to come up with a name for the facility, which forms part of the £38m Colwyn Bay Waterfront Project, creating new sea defences for the town as well as improving the promenade’s appearance.

A team from the Waterfront Development will also be at the Cambrian Christmas Market outside Colwyn Bay’s Bayview Shopping Centre from Thursday December 8 until Saturday 10 December.

You can submit your name for the centre by visiting www.conwy.gov.uk/colwynbaywaterfront before the closing date on January 3, or by dropping in at the Christmas Market Event.

Project bosses will then choose a name from a shortlist of the best suggestions.
