LLANDUDNO JUNCTION put in a heroic shift at the weekend, coming from 4-1 down to draw with unbeaten at home Bodedern Athletic.

Jamie Jones netted Junction’s first of the afternoon, and after Athletic had a man dismissed The Railwaymen battled back for a point, with Robbie Williams, Joel Hewitt and Jones again getting the goals.

Glan Conwy also picked up a point, drawing 0-0 with Bethesda Athletic.

Penmaenmawr Phoenix though were on the end of a heavy defeat, with Peter Williams getting on the scoresheet in a 6-1 defeat to Greenfield.

In the Clwyd League, Mochdre Sports came close to picking up a point from Meliden after twice going behind, but couldn’t find the equaliser in a 3-2 defeat.

Matt Gilmour made it 1-1 with his 35th minute strike, and though Steffan Whiteley made things interesting with his goal 15 minutes from time, Sports couldn’t find the elusive third goal.

Rhos United meanwhile were again on the end of a thrashing, as their under-strength line-up was walloped 12-0 by Rhuddlan Town.

In Division One, West Shore and Old Colwyn’s games were postponed, though Betws yn Rhos bossed up a 3-0 win over Rhyl Hearts.

Adam Lavender, who along with Phil Williams could have put the result into double figures with a series of missed chances, opened the scoring in the first half and Paul Cornwall netted twice in the second half.

At the other end, Scott Dobson was largely a spectator in the Betws goal, with a hard-working Rhos side containing Hearts throughout the 90 minutes.

In the Normac Precision Presidents Cup Second Round , goals from Aaron Boyle and Jack Roberts gave Glan Conwy Reserves a 2-1 win over Llandudno Junction Reserves, who had Connor Davies on target, whilst Conwy United Reserves beat Penmaenmawr 5-0.
