STAR-struck fans could hardly believe their eyes when they spotted X Factor finalist Marcus Collins at Sunday night’s performance of the panto Cinderella at Wrexham’s William Aston Hall.
The self-styled ‘singing hairdresser’ who was runner-up to girl band Little Mix in the TV talent competition last week, attended the pantomime with members of his family from his home on Merseyside to see the glittering production.
He joined the packed audience and at the interval went out into the foyer to meet an army of fans, posing for pictures with them and signing autographs by the score.
Later the 23-year-old performer accepted an invitation to go backstage and meet the cast.
Panto spokesman Michelle Sugar said: “Marcus took time out from his very busy schedule to come along and see Cinderella.
“He was really approachable and entered into the festive spirit not only buying flashing tiaras for friends, but also booing and cheering at the panto characters as they appeared on stage.
“It was a lovely surprise for everyone that Marcus came, especially as he had so much time for his fans.
“It was very funny that the teenagers in the audience spent as much time watching him as the show.”
Marcus said: “What a brilliant fun show for all the family.
“We have loved every minute – the cast is brilliant and the show is so funny. I would definitely come and see it again.”
Cinderella runs until January 1.
