A YOUNG boy has been left heartbroken after thieves stole his Christmas presents.
Kai Thomas, five, had his Nintendo Wii games console and other toys taken during the raid at his mother’s home.
Cash and a necklace belonging to his mum, Kaye Thorley, 28, were also taken during the break in.
Police are investigating the theft and are appealing for witnesses.
Kaye, who is four months pregnant with her second child, lives in Holway, Holywell.
She said: “It is awful. We were away visiting relatives, I was away for the night. They smashed the back window and got in. Nobody saw anything.
“I was gutted when I found out. Kai was heartbroken. He does not want to stay in the house, he is too scared. He has been left shaken.”
The family, including Kaye’s brother Wayne of Mold, and friends, have been rallying around the pair.
“I am really annoyed, I’m not bothered about my stuff, it is Kai’s stuff,” said Kaye.
“It has ruined Christmas.
“He was really pleased with his present, he was on it all the time. He was so happy with it.
“We had been having our best Christmas ever.
“The thought of someone being in your house, rooting through your things, is awful.”
Thieves entered the house after smashing a window at the property on Wednesday night.
Kaye said: “Kai is staying with my mother at the moment. It has been really distressing.
“I have spoken to the police and they said they are carrying out door to door enquiries. “It is a good job I have brilliant friends and relatives who are going to
look out for me and Kai.”
She added: “I would appeal to anyone who saw anything to contact the police.”
A spokesman for North Wales Police said: “We attended the property after a call on Wednesday. We are investigating. Anyone with any information should contact 101.”
