PRODUCERS of hit comedy show Hormonal Housewives have confirmed a cast illness has not jeopardised the national tour - which includes a stop at Rhyl's Pavilion theatre.
Due to ill health Beverley Callard has had to pull out of the spring tour of Hormonal Housewives.
She said: "I am so sorry that I will be unable to do this fantastic show, but I aim to be back on my feet in no time, I am well on the way to recovery and look forward to seeing you all soon."
Margi Clarke is now confirmed to play the lead role in this sparkling comedy paying tribute to all ladies over a “certain age”.
"Myself and the producers of Hormonal Housewives are devastated that Beverley is unable to undertake the tour of Hormonal Housewives as she was perfect for the role and we do wish her a very speedy recovery.," said Jamie Wilson on behalf of the Hormonal Housewives producers. "We are absolutely thrilled that her fellow Coronation Street star Margi Clarke has agreed to replace her throughout the spring tour."
In the Eighties, Liverpool-born Margi Clarke looked set to follow a career in music after singing in various punk bands and once supporting Adam And The Ants.
After starting out as a presenter for Granada, she moved into acting with a role in Channel 4 soap Brookside, before finding recognition in 1985 with a role in cult British film Letter To Brezhnev, which went on to become a huge international hit.
Margi also appeared in the 2011 series of Celebrity Master Chef.
Hormonal Housewives follows the lives of three women as they battle against weight gain, weight loss, mood swings, wine, PMS, men, going to the gym, waxing, stretch marks, men, chocolate, upper-lip hair, chocolate, men, chocolate and all the other joys of being a 21st Century girl.
