COLWYN BAY Rugby Club Juniors’ under 10s took away a number of positives despite two defeats on their trip to Mold.
Owen Phillips notched four tries and Adam Lee-Browne notched a brace as the Bay lost 55-30 in their first game, and Lee-Browne and Matthew Millband, who twice touched down, made up the scoresheet in the second game, a 30-15 reverse.
New-boys Ollie Gibson, Kai McDonald and Joel Shacklady impressed on their debuts.
Colwyn Bay’s Under 7s also played two fixtures against Mold.
In the opening game, the sides drew 9-9 with Will Austin starring with five tries, whilst Jamie Cosgrove (2), William Healy and Thomas Roberts ran in the remaining tries.
Austin also nabbed ten tags, with William Healy (4), Freddie Spillane (2), Morgan Pool, James Copeland, Thomas Roberts (3), Samuel McKinley and Josh Roberts also getting in on the action.
Colwyn Bay lost 4 tries to 6, with Josef Hughes scored his first of the season and Austin adding to his tally with a hat-trick.
