A DOMINANT display from Llandudno’s Under 14s saw the junior side crush Mold 46-5.

Josh Moore set the tone with the opening try after just 30 seconds, and added a second shortly after with a James Rowlands conversion.

Mold pulled a try back from a scrappy Llandudno scrum, but a move straight off the training ground restored their superiority, as Aled Webb controlled the ball to get his first score of the day.

Morgan Owen and Rowlands capitalised on some dazzling off loading for a pair of superb tries, and a brilliant 50 metre run from Sam Hughes earned him the first of two tries.

Owen added another to cap an eye catching performance, with Isaac Williams and Saw Williams also impressive along with player of the match Webb.

Colwyn Bay’s Under 7s took part in a triple-header of fixtures against Rhyl, with both sides using their large squads to play out a great morning of rugby.

The Bay triumphed 6-4 in the opening fixture, with Will Austin scoring three along with one each from Jamie Cosgrove, William Healey and Lewis McLaughlin, who touched down his first try of the season.

The second game ended all square at 7-7, with Henry Battersby also getting on the scoresheet for the first time this term along with tries from William Healey (3), Will Austin (2) and Freddie Spillaine.

Healey bagged another four and Cai Curtis Roberts added a fifth in the final game, which finished up 6-5 to Rhyl.

The Bay’s Youth team also won their weekend game, cruising to a 23-0 win in a league and cup double against Wrexham.

Fly-half Pat Atkinson kicked the only score of the first half, and Lewis Stockton, who came on as a second half substitute, made an instant impact by running almost the length of the field for the opening try.

As the half progressed the home side asserted their dominance, and Stockton added a second by crossing over in the corner.

Atkinson scored another penalty to extend the lead and the final nail in the coffin was hammered home when Wrexham had made a last effort to restore pride in themselves, when close to the home side’s try line they attempted spread the ball on the blind side but the live-wire Stockton intercepted the pass to sprint the length of the pitch to score.
