North Wales Table Tennis League

THE SEMI-FINALISTS for the First Division Table Tennis League Cup have now been decided after Police A won the remaining quarter final tie.

The Police beat Y Morfa B 9-1 to earn an away fixture at cup holders Amlwch A. Rob Stanway provided the most resistance to the Police onslaught by beating Tony Wan in a five game match, taking Roger Lee all the way in a 12-10 loss and claiming a game from Mark Pugh.

In the First Division, Y Morfa A have moved to the top after catching up on their postponed fixtures. They beat both their B and C teams 7-3 and 10-0 respectively, with each of the A team winning two of their three encounters in the former game.
Llandudno Junction started the New Year in convincing fashion by beating Police B 10-0. Bob Lissaman came closest to securing a point for the visitors, going down 15-13 in the fifth to Steve Nicholls.

In the Second Division Glan Clwyd are currently only a two-man team having lost Clive Sparkes to injury. They lost their unbeaten start to the campaign to Craig-y-Don B, though a full strength team would have struggled with Bob Hughes and George Mynott in top form. Captain Ken Moore earned the consolation point, with a straight sets win over Ady Waugh.
