GLAN CONWY 1 LLANDUDNO JUNCTION 1
LOCAL rivals Glan Conwy and Llandudno Junction shared the spoils in a 1-1 draw at the weekend.
Glan marksman Andy Booker headed the Hoops in front after just ten minutes, but John Blundell’s equaliser a minute into the second half ensured both sides claimed a point.
The result keeps Glan Conwy and Junction locked together in seventh and eighth respectively in the Welsh Alliance, though the former will be hoping to cash in on four games in hand to jump up the league table.
Both Mochdre Sports and Rhos United drew their Vale of Clwyd and Conwy League fixtures, with Mochdre picking up a great point in a goalless finish at Prestatyn Rovers and Jay Lynch and Mike Parkins on target for United in a 2-2 stalemate with Rhyl Athletic.
Betws-yn-Rhos earned a one goal advantage heading into the second leg of the REM Jones Cup after beating Cerrigydrudion 3-2.
Despite going behind, Paul Cornwall continued his goalscoring run to level matters, and second half strikes from MIke Loughlin and that man Cornwall again secured Betws their fifth win in six games.
West Shore were also in first-leg action, suffering a 6-2 defeat at the hands of Llannefydd.
Dave Maddocks and Brad Hollerhead managed to get themselves onto the scoresheet for Shore, who will be looking for a better result in the second leg fixtures on February 18.
