AN OPERA based that follows the misadventures of a scheming fox is to be screened in Prestatyn.
Glyndebourne Opera’s The Cunning Little Vixen will be shown at the Scala Cinema and Arts Cinema on June 10.
Leoš Janáček, who avidly read the comic strip of vixen Bystrouška, deepened the original’s depiction of rural life.
Perhaps the only opera to be based on a newspaper cartoon strip, The Cunning Little Vixen follows the lead character’s aventures with humans and forest creatures alike.
Lucy Crowe will make her role debut as the Vixen, with Emma Bell in the role of the Fox.
Leading the London Philharmonic Orchestra will be music director Vladimir Jurowski.
The Cunning Little Vixen is sung in Czech with English subtitles.
Show time is 6.30pm. For ticket prices and more information, call the Scala box office on 01745 850197.
