Police issue safety advice to North Wales motorists

North Wales Police is urging motorists to take extra care on roads across North Wales during the current bad weather.

Police have issued the following safety advice, together with the Environment Agency Wales, to ensure the safety of motorists:

* Only venture out if absolutely necessary.

* Consider using public transport.

* If planning a car journey, plan in advance and allow extra time.

* Monitor local radio stations, as well as the Environment Agency Wales and Met Office websites.

* Drive with extra care, reduce speed in bad conditions and observe all warning and speed signs.

* Wear appropriate clothing and always ensure you have means of communication, for example a mobile phone.
