YEAR 11 pupils at Rydal Penrhos school are celebrating their GCSE results, with this year's students securing an average of more than 8 A* through C passes.
Pupil Lydia Davidson achieved 10 A* grades, and Hannah Davies, Sophie Cashell, Alexander Farnell and Sara Popa taking achieving A* and A grades in all their chosen subjects.
Laurie Brummitt and Jingyi Xie achieved 20 A and A* grades between them - a total of 18 pupils taking at least seven A* or As each.
Subjects such as biology, chemistry, drama, English, physics, Spanish and Welsh achieved a 100 per cent pass rate from A* through C grades.
Headmaster Patrick Lee-Browne said: “GCSEs are a very important step on the road towards higher education, and our pupils have achieved really well again this year.
"They and their families are to be congratulated on the hard work that they devoted to preparing for their exams, and thanks too to their teachers for their part in the final results.
"Our Year 11 pupils are now ready to take on the challenge and opportunity of the Sixth form, and I look forward to watching their development and academic progress over the next two years.”
