FORMER Manchester United star Ashley Grimes has joined Colwyn Bay FC’s coaching staff.

The ex-Manchester United and Ireland defender has been brought in as assistant coach by newly appointed player-manager Frank Sinclair.

Coach Gus Williams has also been promoted to assistant manager.

55-year-old Grimes won 18 caps for the Republic of Ireland, and made 107 appearances for Manchester United between 1977 and 1983.

He won an FA Cup winners medal in 1983 as a non-playing substitute when Manchester United beat Brighton.
