A NEW sea salt flavoured ice lolly will be launched in Conwy over the Bank Holiday weekend.

The new lolly, which is also covered with seaweed, contains salt from the Llandudno shore and is available to buy from Parisella’s Ice Cream Parlour, Conwy.

Jim Jones, section head for tourism and communities at Conwy County Borough Council, said: “We’ve already enjoyed a record number of visitors to Conwy this summer, helped by the launch of a multimedia Alice in Wonderland town trail and the re-launch of Llandudno’s Landing Stage, which has reopened the area back up to the sea.”

The lollies also include a complementary caramel flavour and will cost £1.50, but they are only available from Friday 22 to Monday 25.

Tony Parisella, co-owner of Parisella’s Ice Cream Parlour, said: “The sea salt really complements the sweet caramel flavour and although we often get unusual flavour requests, we are expecting this to be our most successful yet.

“Who knows, it could overtake the 99 as the seaside staple in Conwy.”
