A GROUP representing small businesses has urged shoppers in Conwy to buy their goods locally.

Campaigners for The Federation of Small Businesses met with North Wales AM Llyr Huws Gruffydd at Copper Kettle cafe in Rhos on Sea last week as part of the federation’s Keep Trade Local Campaign.
Mr Huws Gruffydd said: “It was a pleasure to meet with local businesses and to see the issues that face them on the ground.
“Local businesses are at the heart of our communities, and provide an important local service, as well as much-needed local employment.
“By supporting small independent businesses in towns such as Rhos-on-Sea we can keep our communities economically vibrant in the years to come.”
Mr Huws Grufydd is among politicians from all the major parties who are visiting local traders in communities across Wales this summer as part of events organised by Federation Small Businesses.
FSB North Wales regional Chairman Gwyn Evans said: “We are glad that Llyr Huws Gruffydd joined us in giving his support to small independent businesses.
“We know that small businesses in Rhos-on-Sea have a lot to offer, not only in value and convenience, but also through the friendly and knowledgeable service they can provide.
“We would encourage people to make the most of the businesses that are on their doorstep, and support local retailers and tradespeople, so that they can continue to provide a valuable service and support employment in the town in the years to come.”
