A CONWY Valley pub that was the subject of a community drive to re-open the business has been bought by a private investor.

The Red Lion Community Enterprise announced on Saturday that the Red Lion pub in Ty’n-y-groes was sold after a sign outside the pub, which closed in August 2011, sparked discussions on Facebook.
The enterprise said via Facebook: “We are of course disappointed that we did not secure the pub as a community asset but we are delighted that the Llew Coch (Red Lion) will once again re-open as a pub for the locals to enjoy.”
The community enterprise tried to gather momentum by inviting people to buy shares at £100 to raise about £120,000 and put forward a bid for the pub.
They had amassed more than £62,300 in pledges.
