Ahoy me hearties! Conwy looks set to be filled with pirates as all hands are on deck for the return of the annual weekend.

This years event will take place across three days from May 27 to 29 and will also include a special appearance at Llandudno Junction’s Cineworld to mark the next installment of the Pirates in the Caribbean films titled ‘Pirates of the Caribbean Salazar’s Revenge’.

Some of the pirates will be ‘invading’ the cinema on Saturday (May 27) from 7pm to celebrate the opening weekend of the new film.

Claire Williams of HTC Entertainment and Events, who organise the weekend long festivities said: “Come and see the invasion at around 7pm and watch the movie surrounded by pirates. Cineworld have offered a family ticket to the best dressed pirate family, judging will take place after the weekend.

“The Conwy Pirate Weekend has a fantastic following! This year we decided to extend the event to 3 whole days and move the event forward to take advantage of the Bank holiday weekend. We have some exciting entertainment planned. Something for everyone.”

The event will open at 10am each day and will see the return of the famous barrel carrying race and entertainment from an assortment of talented artists, including international one man band artist Scott Jeffers, who is traveling from the USA to start his UK tour in Conwy, and an array of artifacts for sale in the Smuggler’s Market.

This year will also allow visitors to climb aboard the Vilma Tallship whilst she is docked at the quayside for £1 per person.
