THREE-times National Eisteddfod winners Burry Port Town Band are taking part in a Llandudno concert on Saturday, August 5.
Earlier in the day, the band will defend their title at the National Eisteddfod in Bodedern and in the evening they will be at St John’s Church, Llandudno, with award-winning choir Cor Meidion Colwyn.
In 2016, the highlight of Colwyn’s year was an international tour of Canada, where Colwyn were the special guest choir at the North American Welsh Festival and other concerts in front of 2,000 people. Colwyn will also be competing twice at the National Eisteddfod.
This will be the first time that the choir and the band will be in a joint concert , bringing performers from the coasts of the South West Wales together with North Wales.
Both the band and the choir were originally founded in the 1890s and both reformed in 1972, since when they have enjoyed widespread success in concerts, competitions ,festivals and tours
The concert is at St Johns Church , Mostyn Street , Llandudno on Saturday, August 5 at 8pm. Admission is £10, payable at the door or tickets from choir members.
