Volunteers from Rhos-on Sea Rotary Club have agreed to maintain the Princess Diana Memorial garden at Colwyn Avenue.
Work started cutting back overgrown hedging and tidying the garden, soon after the club and Colwyn Bay town council made the maintenance arrangement.
The encourage the volunteers the Mayor of Colwyn, Cllr Jeff Pearson, visited them while they were starting the clearance.
In the coming weeks and months the volunteers will prepare areas for flower planting and erect a frame for climbing white roses.
Two benches will also be replaced, thanks to funding from the Colwyn Business Improvement District.
Expressing pleasure with the progress made to date, Chip Wood, one of the volunteers, said: “The main cutting back went well with six ageing Rotarians expending enormous energy and achieving a great deal. The job seems to have met with the general approval of the neighbours so far.”
