With National Armed Forces Day fast approaching the event has secured another partner.

The Royal British Legion has come onboard to assist with the national event set to hold a village on Bodafon Fields, consisting of attractions and exhibitions.

The legion is the second group, along with the SSAFA, to be named as a partner of the National Armed Forced Day, which will be held in Llandudno on Saturday, June 30.

It provides lifelong support for the Armed Forces community, serving men and women, veterans, and their families.

The Royal British Legion head of marketing , Alex Owen, said “The Royal British Legion are delighted to be working with Conwy County Borough Council as a leading charity partner for the Armed Forces Day event in Llandudno and helping celebrate the contribution of our armed forces community past and present.

"As the country’s largest armed forces charity we have been providing lifelong support to soldiers, sailors, airmen and their families since 1921 and we will continue to have their back no matter what - today, tomorrow, forever.”

Councillor Liz Roberts, Conwy County Borough Council Armed Forces Champion, added: “I’m really proud and excited that Llandudno has been chosen as the host town for the UK Armed Forces Day, and we’re certainly going to make it a day to remember.

“We’re thrilled The Royal British Legion as well as other key sponsors have chosen to work with us on this prestigious event, and very much appreciate their contribution and commitment in working with us to deliver the best possible day for all.

“Our Armed Forces Day event is the perfect opportunity and the right environment to raise awareness of these worthwhile charities whilst also thanking serving personnel and veterans.”
