RESIDENTS in a Llandudno nursing home held a wear a hat to work day, to raise funds for charity last week.
The event in High Pastures Nursing Home, Deganwy was held to support the official Brain Tumour charity’s wear a hat to work day.
Staff, residents and relatives sported their best headgear and all paid £1 to the charity.
The residentshad decorated their hats themselves at one of the nursing home’s craft afternoons.
Nikki Darbyshire, the event coordinator said: “We obtained plain hats from donations and charity shops, and so supported another charity along the way. Some of creations made by the residents would stand comparison with the elaborate confections worn on Ladies Day at Ascot.
Nikki added: “We have had fellow residents who have passed away and some of the staff, including myself, have lost loved ones through brain tumours. We have to raise money in house for our own activities, but we try to support linked charities wherever we can.”
