With the new Colwyn Bay kiosk nearing completion a tennant has been selected to take on the lease.

Tracy and Mark Mansfield, who previously operated the bouncy castle concession by Rhos on Sea paddling pool, have successfully secured the concession.

Construction of the kiosk is due to be completed by the end of next month and the couple intend to be up and running by June or July, in time for the summer season.

Tracy Mansfield, said: “Having been brought up in Colwyn Bay and having so many happy memories of the seafront, we could not be happier to be part of this exciting new development.

"We have plans to make this a destination for both locals and holidaymakers alike. We’re looking forward to making this kiosk into a hub for all the community, and being an integral part of the success of the Colwyn Bay’s new waterfront.

"We’re looking forward to welcoming customers new and old on this journey with us."

The new kiosk is part of the multi-million pound Colwyn Bay waterfront project which is being carried out in conjunction with coastal defence work and enhancements to the promenade - all delivered by Conwy County Borough Council (CCBC).

Funding for the project has come from Welsh Government, European Regional Development Fund, Visit Wales and CCBC.

Cllr Louise Emery, Conwy’s Cabinet Member for Economic Development, said: “We received lots of interest in this new concession, it was a rigorous tender process, and we have been delighted with the quality of the bids.

"I’d like to congratulate Tracy and Mark on their successful application. This is exactly the kind of business we were looking for to help make the most of the marvellous Colwyn Bay waterfront - investment in the regeneration of the town.”
