Police officers who tried to help a drunken woman and to take her home were abused by her as she tried to kick out at them.

The officers went to Station Road, Colwyn Bay, on February 24, after being told that the woman kept falling off her bike and that some men may have stolen keys from her.

They were prepared to take her home but instead Abigail Burns turned on them and denied that her keys had been stolen.

At Llandudno magistrates’ court Burns, aged 19, of Maes Cynbryd, Llanddulas, pleaded guilty to being drunk and disorderly and was given a 12-month conditional discharge. She must also pay £85 costs and a £20 surcharge.

Her solicitor Craig Hutchinson said she regretted her actions and realised that her behaviour was “inappropriate”.
