The annual Prom Xtra is returning to the Colwyn Bay promenade this weekend.

The family-fun event will be held on Saturday featuring fairground rides, entertainment, and lots of free activities.

Thrill-seekers can ride a virtual wave on the Surf Snowdonia-sponsored surf simulator, jump on a segway, or drive a hovercraft for free—if over 16.

Helicopter rides are also available for £35 per person, but organisers are advising to book early to avoid missing out.

Music fans can enjoy local talent performing on the Prom Live stage, whilst baby meerkats, rabbits, snakes, spiders, and scorpions will feature in an interactive animal display.

Conwy County Borough Council’s Cabinet Member for Economic Development, Cllr Louise Emery, said: “Every year Prom Xtra offers a brilliant day out to families in North Wales. This is a fantastic event because much of the entertainment is free.

“The event attracts thousands to the area, and, quite literally, there is something for everyone, no matter what your taste or interest.

“Prom Xtra is the right environment for a great day out with friends and family.”

The Adventure Zone and have-a-go sports will be two more areas available, for free, on the day while a number of extra Welsh activities will be introduced to the event in 2018.

Organisers are encouraging non-Welsh speakers to come and learn a few phrases for fun.
