THE second annual Bryn-Y-Maen show took place last weekend.

This year activities in the main ring included changing a tyre competition - overseen by mechanic Gareth Lloyd, hand shearing demo by a local farmer and local children’s art.

In 2017 a society was formed to reinstate the Bryn-Y-Maen show in order to preserve vintage agricultural machinery and rural crafts. The show was originally run in the 40s and briefly in the 70s & 80s.

Event chairman, Roger Edwards said: “Last year we welcomed over 800 visitors & raised money from the proceed to go directly to Alzheimers research & the Royal Agricultural Benevolent."

The children’s area was manned by local residents Joanne and Lucy Roberts from Marian Farm, who’s father Ronnie was involved with the original show back in 1980.

The children’s art exhibition which was open to local schools, included handmade and painted stocks.
