A SPEECH and language therapy assistant at Ysgol y Gogarth, Llandudno, has completed a self imposed challenge to walk on, swim in or kayak on a total of 22 Welsh mountains, lakes and rivers.
Rachel Owen said: “The school has 22 classes which are all named after Welsh mountains, lakes and rivers, this led to my challenge: to walk, swim in or kayak on each. As a family we love the outdoors. At age 8 and 6, my children Katy and James, make us very proud, walking for miles without a complaint. We have now conquered all 22 of the walks.
“The grand finale was Yr Wyddfa, Snowdon last week. The weather was misty and very windy on the summit but we made it and thoroughly enjoyed every minute.
“While undertaking this challenge, we have raised money for the inspirational school in where I work. So far, we have raised £275 and have a sponsorship page at: www.justgiving.com/crowdfunding/gogarthwalks4."
