THE work of dedicated volunteers who perform invaluable services for the community was recognised in a Ceremony in Colwyn Bay this week.
Community and Voluntary Support Conwy held an event where certificates were presented to 43 volunteers. Wendy Jones, the group’s chief officer said: “Our annual event acknowledges and celebrates the huge contribution volunteers make to our daily lives.
“It was a truly uplifting event. It was eye-opening to see what services are actually delivered in Conwy, that are voluntary, and would otherwise not happen, for example: youth clubs; after school clubs; playgroups; lunch clubs for the elderly; photography clubs; bee-keepers clubs; chronic conditions support groups; child-line; veterans support hub; modern day slavery awareness raising, the list is endless.
“Our role in the event was to provide the platform for community and voluntary groups in Conwy to publicly award their volunteers with certificates and their gratitude.”
