The many personae of David Bowie will share the spotlight in Llandudno next week.

The Bowie Starman Heroes world tour is dropping into Venue Cymru to celebrate the life of one rock’s most enduring and influential stars.

For those grieving the loss not just of the man himself – but that of his alter egos, Ziggy Stardust, Aladdin Sane, Major Tom and the Thin White Duke – Heroes is the perfect opportunity to revel in 47 years of era-defining music.

While the many personae of the genius that was Bowie diverge, all had one common denominator – namely that they delivered many of the most memorable, inspiring and lasting songs of a generation.

At Venue Cymru they will enjoy a long-overdue reunion.
Songs from all eras of Bowie’s celebrated career are performed to perfection in this highly charged show, all the way from 1969’s Space Oddity to Blackstar, released just before his death in January 2016.

From Rebel Rebel to China Girl, Let’s Dance to Young Americans, Ashes to Ashes, Life On Mars, Changes, Heroes, Sound And Vision, Golden Years, Ziggy Stardust... the list of hits is an endless indicator of how many times Bowie reinvented his image and the numerous culture shifts that followed his lead.

Heroes amasses the finest musicians and singers to form the band Blackstar with an amazing performance by theatre stage star Michael King as the man behind the masks.

King said: “Having been a Bowie fan from an early age, it just felt the right thing to do in assembling the finest set of musicians for this show.

"I remember queueing overnight at the old Maine Road football stadium in 1987 just so I could get to the front to watch Bowie’s Glass Spider Tour. How could I do anything else after that experience?

“I love the fact that Bowie had several personae, which suits me just fine. My favourite live album was entitled David Live, around the Diamond Dogs Thin White Duke era which was a pretty cool time for sure.”

The performance will include big-screen audio visual footage, plus various costume changes and an awesome show taking the audience on a fantastic voyage of Bowie hits.

For a highly entertaining, emotional and thought provoking musical celebration of one of rock’s most missed stars, head to Venue Cymru on Thursday, July 12 at 7.30pm.

Tickets are £25.50 online at venuecymru.co.uk or by calling the box office on 01492 872000.
