One of the UK’s most exciting unsigned acts will expand their fan base in Rhos on Sea tonight.
Prolific Nottingham three-piece Eyre Llew have added a stop at PIE Records to their packed schedule, bringing the full force of their massive ethereal guitars and vocals for what promises to be an incendiary performance.
Previously championed by The 405 online music and culture magazine, Fred Perry Subculture and BBC Introducing as well as being labelled by Drowned in Sound as 2017’s “ones to watch”, they have performed various tours around the UK, Europe and South Korea.
The music of Eyre Llew is often compared to post-rock bands such as Sigur Ros, Bon Iver, Explosions in the Sky and A Winged Victory For The Sullen.
However, over constant gigging the band have taken their sound beyond the limits of the genre and bring a dizzying level of perfectionism in marrying mesmerising melodies with colossal-sounding harmony.
Since forming in 2014, the band have been pumping out a steady flow of ambient rock and have released nine singles before recording, producing and self-releasing their critically acclaimed album, Atelo.
The 12-track opus was released in October 2017, reaching number 24 in Drowned in Sound’s top 100 albums of the same year.
Also that year, the band were nominated for three Unsigned Music Awards at The Great Escape Festival – best rock act, best record and best music video categories – and had a number of film and TV syncs, including Jonny Owen’s Don’t Take Me Home documentary about the Wales football team’s journey to the semi-finals of Euro 2016.
Eyre Llew will be at PIE Records at 7pm. Admission is free.
