CONWY RNLI has launched a recruitment drive for volunteers to man and launch its inshore lifeboat.

The role of lifeboat crew is to be on call for lifeboat shouts, to attend exercises and contribute to the overall upkeep and maintenance of the station, lifeboats and equipment and to undertake training.

The role of launching crew is self explanatory, but members also help maintain the lifeboat and associated equipment to keep it in a constant state of readiness for launching.

Danny-lee Davies, spokesman for Conwy RNLI said: "We’re seeking members of the local community who are looking for a new challenge. No previous maritime experience is required, as full and extensive training is provided by the RNLI. We are particularly keen for people who can volunteer during daytime hours."

Potential volunteers can seek further information or apply on line. Additionally they can contact the RNLI’s Volunteering Team on: 01202 663346 or email: volunteering@rnli.org.uk, or contact the local station Conwy@rnli.org.uk.
