Conwy residents were able to celebrate the election of new town mayor and councillors on Sunday.

A Civic Parade was held through the streets of Conwy, led by newly elected mayoress Samantha Cotton, with the event acting as a divine service to bless the incoming council members.

A service was held at the St Mary's Church before the parade, taken by Reverend David Parry.

The service and parade were attended by, not only residents of Conwy, but councillors from surrounding towns.

The Civic Parade is an annual event held by the Conwy Town Council.

Cllr Cotton is mayoress of Conwy for the second time in her career, having previously taken on the role in 2013.

She takes over from former mayor Bill Chapman who held the role in 2017/18.

She has been a town councillor since 2010 and county councillor since 2012 and re-assumed the role of mayoress back in May.
